Just My Thoughts...
"Emily" recently posted a message
to my board. She stated "I think you should help more
with the basketball parents. It's only fair. You talk the
talk but you need to walk the walk."
My response: I
do walk the walk. FYI...The boys have a tournament game the same
time as freshman orientation. I made the suggestion to have the
orientation taped for you parents to view. The
result...the orientation WILL BE TAPED
for later viewing. I am highly involved in
activities that affect the children in our community. I operate
a summer reading program and a student mentoring program. I
simply choose to put my energies in more positive and productive
avenues. Emily and the others should be more concerned about the
coach ranting, raving and bullying around our sons, rather than
me selling hotdogs.

I would like to clarify my
posting from last evening. I don't know for a fact that
Kim Huffman stole my campaign yard signs. Although,
numerous people in the community, some who I don't even know,
have stopped me and share this tidbit of information.

Well the immaturity at Wilson
Middle Schools basketball games continues. I have tried
to conduct myself as the respectable woman that I am, but the
very next time the woman who stole me, Heidi and Mark's
campaign yard signs gets up in my face, I am going to forget
all tact and go there. As my new favorite rapper TI
says "You Don't Know Me." For the record, I have ethics
and integrity and REFUSE to support a program that is UNFAIR
and disrespects MY child. Remember, "You Don't
Know Me." Heed the rumors, I am crazy as hell. I stand
up and protect my children. If I don't, who will.
Mrs. Huffman, your indignation should be with the fact that
there were 15 boys on the team and half didn't get to play
most of the season, not that I refused to work a concession

I have held my tongue for way too
long regarding the Newark Basketball program. I am
appalled that the coaching philosophy touts winning over the
self-esteem of student athletes. Something is up when
athletes wish they had never tried out or made the team. I
thought that sports was supposed to be a fun outlet for the
players. Remember, the team is only as good as the
weakest players. I guess the rumors are true if you are
vocal on school issues or if you don't kiss the butts of the
athletic department, your kid sits the bench. For all
appearances, the 8th grade players on the Wilson team are
more mature than the adults that surround them within the
program. Fifteen guys on team and only six guys play. If you
make the team, there should be playing time for all.
The shameful part is that parents are fearful to speak up!
They aren't playing so what harm can be done. Perhaps
the coaching staff should review the Coaches Fair Play Code
below. AGAIN, winning isn't everything! I
strongly suggest that the athletic department survey the
parents and players at the end of every season to get insight
on the adults that are coaching our kids. (1-21-05)

must either be a BLAZING IDIOT or totally morally corrupt.
How in his right mind can he determine
that Steve Schaller, a member of the City's Zoning Appeal
Board, conducted himself properly, when he actively
participated in a vote that benefited a client of his law
firm?
According to DUMBO, since Schaller didn't
directly represent the criminals June and James Sachs, there
wasn't a conflict of interest.
PLEASE!!!!! Even if
unethical Schaller didn't appear in court to represent evil
June and James, he had prior knowledge of the case and he
financially benefited when
his
law firm accepted a retainer from the old evil ones.
His vote was bought! Since when don't senior
partners know what cases junior partners are working on?
Perhaps we should begin
a recall of the Law Director. He has proven that he
doesn't have the best interest of all citizens at heart.
Looks to me like criminals protecting each other.
This is just another incident demonstrating just how CORRUPT
Newark's city government is!!! Do I still have the address to
the ethics commission? Something just doesn't smell right!!!!

Is it true that the local NAACP can't get
any members to run for office? Numerous calls were made
to a select group of members to solicit interest in running
for elected office. (Wonder why they didn't call all members
or post a notice in the newspaper?) Regardless, no one
is interested!
In typical NAACP fashion, the group was
organized enough to plan and collect money from a banquet in
September, but they can't rally their troops to conduct a
mandatory election. The election should have taken place in
November. Looks like the president has again
prevented a democratic vote in the civil rights organization.
Rumor has it that she will be prez again merely by default

Question
of the Day: Is there something in the water? "Soul
Food, Chitterlings, Collard Greens, Cornbread, and Yams - What
the slaves ate" This event is an all time low even for the
founder of the hip-hop school. I have received so many
emails and comments. A sampling is below:

If we only make up two percent of the population, I know they
didn't only stock the shelves for the Black consumption of the
chitterlings. The numbers just don't reflect it.

Questions
of the Day: I wonder what
avenues, we as taxpaying citizens take when our elected
officials and their governing bodies behave unethically and/or
participate in blatant COLLUSION
and DISCRIMINATION? Do integrity
and ethics matter at 40 W. Main St? Does money buy justice
in City Hall? If I want a decision or vote to go my way, do I
just hire the outside services of a commission member or

Although I am not a lawyer, I wonder if collusion would be a
good way to describe the actions of the law director and a
certain member of the Zoning Appeals Board. Interesting
that one member of the board is the the attorney for the couple
that complained about my fence. The average citizen would
think collusion took place, as the member of the board wasn't
impartial and probably for the sake of ethics shouldn't have
participated in a vote. COLLUSION!!!

After being assaulted in City Hall on Tuesday, the City's Law
Director's Office
REFUSED
to press charges against the criminal who hit me. They
didn't believe that they could get a conviction although they
didn't allow the process to play out in a court of law. It
is most evident that there are two sets of laws in Newark.
One for old rich white men who contribute to the political
campaign of the Law Director and a set for the rest of us.
It is most interesting
that James Sachs and his evil wife June, have undue and powerful
influence in the Law Director's Office. The Law Director's
office, strangely and repeatedly pressured the Zoning Inspector
to "get that fence down" even before the Zoning Commission was
able to hear the case. That doesn't seem fair. Why have
the hearing if the case was pre-determined? Why was
someone who has a personal relationship and grew up on Glenmore
able to participate in the process? He should have removed
himself from the decision-making process. Perhaps
the racists Sachs really are big donors to the Law Director and their
contributions are affording them the right to harass Newark

After
an interesting conversation with the City's Safety Director, I
was shocked with her position why the man who hit me didn't get
arrested. "The officers used discretion."
Question of the Day: How do
you know if you are getting good discretion or bad discretion?
How do you know if the officer you are interacting with is using
stereotypes, personal bias or life experiences when he decides
rather to arrest you or not? Is this the reason why there
are more Black people in jail than white folks?

For the
Record: I still contend that I was hit in city hall and
no one was arrested. City Hall should be a no-tolerance zone
for violence. Even while filing the police report, the
assailant, still behaving badly, walks into the lobby (in
front of police officers and witnesses) and starts yelling and
putting his finger closely to my face. He and his wife were
out of control and he still wasn't arrested. Old man
Sachs was simply gingerly escorted out of the room like he was
someone's beloved grandfather. His behavior was totally
unacceptable, regardless of his age. Affirmed by my life
experiences, I know that I could not conduct myself in that
manner and not be arrested.
Discretion can also mean discrimination. (And since when
doesn't the victim get the benefit of discretion) (10-28-04)
I
was assaulted in City Hall yesterday and the the perp, James
Sachs, didn't get arrested. I still can't believe
someone actually hit me after a public forum. Did I
mention there were witnesses? Should I call the local
NAACP to complain that my civil rights appear to have been
violated? All I know is that the City sent police officers
to the Zoning Commission Meeting in anticipation of a big Black
wolf being in attendance. While all eyes were looking for
the "menacing" Black man, an old white man flew under the radar
and slugged me in the arm, apparently because he didn't like
something I said. After he hit me, his wife June was
equally disorderly. She was cursing and pointing her finger
closely to my face. She didn't get arrested either. Let's
turn in the tables, if I would have slugged him or made profane
disorderly comments, I KNOW I would
be taking up a cigarette fund for my time behind bars.
Will the Prosecutor's Office be as vehement in pursuing a case
against an old white man and his crazy wife who commits a crime
or do they only actively look into cases where whites are the
victims? I still can't believe he hit me. Is Johnnie
Cochran still accepting cases? (10-27-04)
In
its continued pattern of harassment by the City of Newark, I was
most surprised by the comments of a Newark City Police Officer
who "stopped" by my house after receiving a complaint from the
old man James Sachs who slugged me. I had lawfully
parked my car in the city right-away in front of his home.
The officer said, "If they are unhappy, they call me and I am
unhappy, which means I have to make you unhappy."
What gives with that? Was that a threat? What does that mean?
Was he predisposed to make a decision before speaking with me
simply based on the information provided by a old man who hit
me? I guess I am going to have to call the NAACP and get them to
call an emergency meeting. Some days, after
dealing with crazy racist whites folks, I just don't feel like

(News Flash...Black children are more than capable of just
rapping and performing. As responsible adults, we
should encourage our children to develop their intellect rather

entertaining and chasing a "pipe" dream.) Who in their right
mind would encourage children to pursue rap and hip-hop as a
career or lifestyle? Did the proprietor of the "school"

Dr. Bill Cosby's recent critique on some of the problems in
the Black community? Oh, I forgot, the proprietor is one
of Newark's biggest problems. Precious resources are being
taken away from Newark City Schools for a sham of an enterprise.
What a shame that NCS has to reimburse the "school" for every
student who enrolls in the Hip-Hop Academy.

Four years ago I and
others tried to
bring honesty and integrity to the NAACP. We saw that
corruption under the leadership of Rita Jackson was rampant. I publicly
questioned the strange relationship between Newark City Schools
and the local branch...I can now broadly smile and say "I told you!"
